Introductions

1. This is my second year at CU and my first year i took a creative writing class which was the best class ever. We did this project where we had to choose a place where it was the most crowded by people to do a certain position and then freeze for a few minutes. I was tying my shoe and others were running, in a bike, talking on the phone, screaming, etc. It was so much fun seeing everyone pass by and saying 'what are they doing?' They would just look at us like we were crazy.
2. The longest paper i have written was a 8 page paper on a short story called The Last Duchess. It included endnotes and bibliography. This was my final in my literary analysis class my second semester here. It was tough!
3. My favorite paper is a play i wrote about my cousin and her boyfriend. It was a real life story of Romeo and Juliet. It came out really good, especially since it was all real. It talked about how they loved each other but their families did everything so that they wouldn't get married. But no one dies in the end though.
4. The last book i read was The Lucifer Principle which references the bible and the devil and all the evil things that have happened in the past including the Holocaust. It is very interesting to learn about evil in the world and where it comes from. This book is filled with great quotes. It was a good book.
5. I love paintings from Frida Kahlo. She painted very strong, meaningful portraits of herself and many other things. I feel like there is so much hidden meaning in her paintings. She was an extraordinary person that painted whenever she felt she needed to get away from her problems. I like the color she uses in all her portraits.
6. My main interest besides writing, music and art is learning. Learning about anything and everything that i do not know now. I love to just pick up the newspaper and read about what is going on in the world. I like knowing if there is a cure for some kind of disease or if the economy is getting better.
7. Recently i read in the newspaper about a woman from the middle east that came to Denver to get a new face. Her husband cut her nose out and she was looking for a plastic surgeon here. It got me thinking how fortunate she was to have the opportunity to come here and start a new life.
8. A cultural event that really impressed me was when we went to Cancun and visited Xcaret. This is a park with many things to do, like snorkling, swimming, etc. In the stadium, we saw a show where many people performed how in their state they do it. All the states of Mexico had their own unique performance. It was amazing to see how different they all were. Also they played what is now soccer, the way the Mayans played when they lived there. It was just breathtaking how they had to fit a ball into a small hole using only their thighs.
9. I just recently thought about changing my major to psychology. I would love to become a marriage counselor or a psychologist. It is so interesting how the brain works and i'm pretty good at giving advice so that is something i'm going to look into.
